Klaten, August 6, 2024 — The Communication Science Program of Universitas Trunojoyo Madura (UTM) conducted a community service activity at the Malangjiwan Village Hall, Klaten, Central Java, on Monday, August 6, 2024. The event, themed “Information Literacy in Tourism Branding Development,” aimed to enhance the tourism potential of Malangjiwan Village through information literacy and effective branding strategies.

The activity was attended by all village officials, youth organizations, and tourism managers, particularly from the Umbul Brintik tourist attraction, as well as lecturers from the UTM Communication Science Program.

During the event, participants received training and guidance on how to build a positive image of village tourism through social media, photography techniques, creative content creation, and effective media management. Lecturers from the UTM Communication Science Program also shared their knowledge and experience in developing communication strategies that could enhance the attractiveness of village tourism.

The results of this activity showed a significant positive impact. The Communication Science Program of UTM successfully contributed to the development of the tourism village in Malangjiwan. The managers of Umbul Brintik now have a better understanding of effective branding and media management to attract tourists. Additionally, this activity also strengthened the partnership between UTM and Malangjiwan Village and provided valuable feedback for curriculum development in the UTM Communication Science Program.

With a strong spirit of partnership, the Communication Science Program of UTM is committed to continuously supporting the development of Malangjiwan Village’s tourism potential through various community service activities in the future.
