Bangkalan, September 23-26, 2024 – As a strategic step to face challenges in the digital era, the Faculty of Social and Cultural Sciences (FISIB) at Trunojoyo Madura University organized a Data Science Competency Certification for Communication Science lecturers. This event took place in the FISIB Multimedia Room from September 23 to 26, 2024, specifically designed to equip lecturers with increasingly essential skills in modern education.
The certification focused on mastering key competencies in Data Science, including data processing and analysis, applying statistical techniques in communication research, effective data visualization, and utilizing leading analytics software. These competencies aim to help lecturers integrate a data-driven approach into their teaching and research, creating more innovative and relevant learning methods.
Participants, consisting of Communication Science lecturers from various cohorts, engaged in a series of intensive training sessions led by experienced Data Science instructors. They were provided with knowledge and skills in handling big data, identifying patterns in data for research purposes, and developing data interpretation abilities useful in both scientific publications and teaching.
In addition to enhancing technical skills, the certification also provided insights into the use of data in modern communication strategies, both in academia and industry. The acquired competencies are expected to open doors for lecturers not only to improve the quality of their teaching but also to strengthen their role in data-based research, both at national and international levels.
Through this certification, FISIB Communication Science lecturers are expected to be at the forefront of implementing Data Science approaches in education, thereby contributing more significantly to the development of modern communication science integrated with technology.
