Surabaya, November 14, 2024 – The students of the Visual Communication Design (VCD) Program at the Communication Science Department of Trunojoyo University Madura (UTM) successfully organized a miniature exhibition titled “Lift and Rally Works” at Balai Pemuda Surabaya on November 14, 2024. The exhibition raised the theme “Visualization of Struggle History in the Dimension of Art”, showcasing miniature artworks in 2D, 3D, and 4D that represent Indonesia’s historical struggles in an innovative and meaningful way.
The miniatures displayed are not merely works of art, but also symbols of the nation’s strength and fighting spirit. Each 2D miniature presents a deep visual representation of important historical events, while the 3D miniatures offer an interactive experience that invites visitors to feel the depth of the struggle stories more vividly. Equally captivating, the 4D miniatures utilize technology to combine visuals, sounds, and sensory effects, providing an emotional experience that brings history to life in an extraordinary way.
As the highlight of the exhibition, Anggakara also presented a spectacular art performance by the students of Trunojoyo University Madura (UTM). The performance combined elements of dance, music, and theater, taking visitors on an emotional journey that revived the heroic moments in Indonesia’s history. With a blend of visuals and movement, the performance delivered a drama that touched the heart, inviting the audience to experience the struggles of the nation’s heroes in an energetic and imaginative way.
Organized by Visual Communication Design (VCD) students, Anggakara is more than just a regular exhibition. It is a space where history and creativity meet. The exhibited works not only present the nation’s struggle stories but also highlight the power of visuals in delivering messages. From illustrations, paintings, to modern installations, each work takes visitors on a journey through the traces of the struggles that shaped this nation.
As a final project in the VCD course, this exhibition involved various students exploring history through new perspectives. Each piece of work serves as a bridge connecting the past with the present, utilizing the power of visual art to convey the values of struggle and nationalism that are still relevant to today’s youth. This is a fresh and meaningful way to honor the heroes and raise historical awareness within society.
The exhibition successfully united art, technology, and history into an unforgettable experience. Anggakara proves that art can be a powerful tool to connect the past with the present, inspiring younger generations to continue to appreciate and celebrate the spirit of Indonesia’s struggle. The colorful and energetic exhibition successfully attracted visitors from various backgrounds, opening eyes to the importance of history while enriching the understanding of Indonesian art and culture.
With meaningful 2D, 3D, and 4D miniatures, along with a spectacular art performance, Anggakara has created an experience that is not only entertaining but also profound and full of messages.
