Bangkalan, September 19, 2024 – The Communication Science Study Program at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities of Trunojoyo University Madura (UTM) successfully held a public lecture titled “Exploring AI for Productivity” on Thursday, September 19, 2024. This event aimed to enhance students’ digital literacy and prepare them to face the challenges of an increasingly digital age.

The event was attended by first-semester students enrolled in the Capacity Building course, as well as faculty members from the Communication Science program. During this guest lecture, participants gained deep insights into the importance of skills in managing technology, particularly artificial intelligence (AI), to support daily activities and learning processes.

The Coordinator of the Communication Science Study Program, Dr. Yuliana Rakhmawati, S.Sos., M.Si., stated in her opening remarks, “This activity is expected to establish a quality support system for education and enhance the quality of our program, as well as expand the network of the Communication Science program with practical partners.” She also recommended that guest lectures by practitioners be held more frequently, inviting speakers from various fields to enrich students’ knowledge.

The outcomes of this activity indicated that students now have a better understanding of existing technologies and can utilize AI to enhance their academic productivity. Tools such as scheduling and assignment outlining serve as examples of effective and ethical AI usage.

Students expressed a desire for similar guest lectures to be held regularly, featuring diverse themes to further enrich their understanding of cutting-edge technologies that play a crucial role in academic and professional environments.

With the successful execution of this event, it is hoped that students will become more wise in using technology and able to adapt to changes in the world of communication and media.
